BADC STANDARD CERTIFICATION IN UNARMED Robin will be leading this weekend weapon certification! Our modular weekend weapon certifications provide compact, industry recognised training designed to make you a more skilled and confident performer and combatant. SCHEDULE: Sat 12th, Sun 13th, Sat 19th & Sun 20th February 2022 Saturday 12th: 10:00 - 17:30 Sunday 13th: 10:00 - 17:30 Saturday 19th: 10:00 - 17:30 Sunday 20th: 10:00 - 17:30 The training focuses on the fundamental skills required to perform convincing violent action when unarmed - the most frequently used skill in any actor-combatant’s toolkit. You will be working towards performing a choreographed fight within the context of a scripted scene. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS: This course is suitable for students new to the BADC (no prior experience necessary!), and for students with a modular Standard Level Sword Certification who are looking to consolidate to full Standard level status. You must attend for the full training schedule to be able to participate in the BADC Exam on Sunday 20th February. To consolidate to a complete Standard Level students require two modular weapon systems: Standard Unarmed and Standard Level Sword. Modular weapon systems can be taken separately and you will have 2 years to consolidate to Standard Level. If you have completed a Standard Level under BADC Emergency COVID Measures (2 sword systems) you need Unarmed as part of your progression towards Intermediate status. VENUE INFO: BOLD Elephant is located a 3 minute walk from Elephant and Castle underground station (Bakerloo and Northern lines). Kitchen available for hot drinks, fridge and microwave. There are multiple cafes and shops within walking distance. FURTHER INFO: All courses will run according to current COVID guidelines. Venue has excellent ventilation, and kitchen and toilet facilities exclusively for the use of course participants. You can join us for Standard Rapier on 24-28th January to complete your consolidation to full BADC Standard status!
Up to seven days before the start of the course you can credit the full fee to another course should you need to cancel your place due to unforeseen circumstances. Should you need to cancel after this we will refund 50% of the course fee. Once the course has started there are no refunds or fee transfers.
