BADC STANDARD CERTIFICATION IN RAPIER Robin will be leading this week-long weapon certification! Our modular weapon certifications provide compact, industry recognised training designed to make you a more skilled and confident performer and combatant. SCHEDULE: Monday 24th - Friday 28th January 2022 Monday 24th: 10:00 - 17:00 Tuesday 25th: 10:00 - 17:00 Wednesday 26th: 10:00 - 17:00 Thursday 27th: 10:00 - 17:00 Friday 28th: 10:00 - 17:00 The training focuses on the fundamental skills required to perform convincing violent action when armed with a Rapier - the cut and thrust sword used by Renaissance swashbucklers, Shakespearean duelists and Zorro. Across 25+ hours of training you will be working towards performing a choreographed fight within the context of a scripted scene. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS: This course is suitable for students new to the British Academy of Dramatic Combat (no prior experience necessary!), and for students with a Standard Unarmed Certification who are looking to consolidate to full Standard level status. You must attend for the full training schedule to be able to participate in the BADC Exam on Friday 28th January. To consolidate to a complete Standard Level students require two modular weapon systems: Standard Level Sword and Standard Unarmed. Modular weapon systems can be taken separately and you will have 2 years to consolidate to Standard Level. Venue has excellent ventilation, and kitchen and toilet facilities exclusively for the use of course participants. You can join us for Standard Unarmed on 12-13 and 19-20th February to complete your consolidation to full BADC Standard status!
Up to seven days before the start of the course you can credit the full fee to another course should you need to cancel your place due to unforeseen circumstances. Should you need to cancel after this we will refund 50% of the course fee. Once the course has started there are no refunds or fee transfers.
