BADC FURTHER LEVEL WEAPON CERTIFICATION IN SWORD AND SHIELD Location: St. Anne's Settlement Hall, 40-46 Harleyford Road, London, SE11 5AY Our courses provide compact, industry recognised training designed to make you a more skilled and confident performer and combatant. Weekly courses offer time to consolidate learning between each class and are ideal for fitting around regular commitments. SCHEDULE Wednesdays between 21st August - 25th September Wednesday 21st Aug 09.30 - 17.00 Wednesday 28th Aug 09.30 - 17.00 Wednesday 4th Sept (week off) Wednesday 11th Sept 09.30 - 17.00 Wednesday 18th Sept 09.30 - 17.00 Wednesday 25th Sept 09.30 - 17.00 Doors open 15 minutes before each session. The training focuses on the fundamental skills required to perform convincing violent action when armed with sword & shield! This weapon is a firm favourite across all forms of media: stage, screen and video games. You will be working towards performing a choreographed fight within the context of a scripted scene. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS: A complete, consolidated Standard Certification. Be working towards Intermediate or Advanced Actor-Combatant status. Open to participants aged 18+ You must attend for the full training schedule to be able to participate in the performance test on 25th September. This training will demand you are physically working for full course hours. This course is not suitable for non-disabled people who have, or are recovering from, a physical injury. For disabled participants, please note - we don’t have an access budget but we can make reasonable adjustments we can make reasonable adjustments where possible and when access needs are provided in advance. PRICE: Course price: £260 (includes Exam Fee) A £100 deposit secures your space, full price due 7 days before the course starts. VENUE INFO: St Anne’s Settlement Hall is accessed via a single step, and is then step-free inside. There is a wheelchair-accessible toilet. The Hall is located a 5 min walk from Vauxhall Underground and Overground station (which are step-free access and have mini-ramp), and a 10 min walk from Oval Underground station (which is not accessible to wheelchair users). There is a kitchen available for water, hot drinks and a microwave. Cafes and food shops within 5-10 min walking distance. FURTHER INFO: All weapon systems require a minimum of 20 hours training prior to examination. Weapon certifications are valid for 4 years.
Cancellation Policy
Up to seven days before the start of the course we will refund or credit your full deposit / fee paid to another course should you need to cancel your place due to unforeseen circumstances. Should you need to cancel in the week before the course starts we will refund or credit 50% of the fee paid. Once the course has started there are no refunds or fee transfers.
